November Favorites - Beauty and Perfume

There is nothing better than looking at what caught my eye and made me smile in new or new to me beauty products each month. This time of year has an abundance of things to compete for your money. Here are some of my favorites for November 2022.

Bare Minerals GEN Nude Blonzer

Once again, the marketing experts got me with the name.  A blush and bronzer combo?  I’m intrigued!  This comes in 3 colors, and I chose Kiss of Rose with its slightly brown/bronze undertone.  It is creamy powder formula that blends well and gives a “I was just on an island vacation” glow.  It is highly pigmented, so start light and build up as desired.  Admittedly, this functions as a blush and I wouldn’t use it in the same way as a bronzer, but I love it all the same.  You can find this at Ulta Beauty for $25.

Fenty Match Stix Matte Contour Skin Stick

Rhianna’s Fenty Brand of cosmetics has been a bestseller since it began in 2017.  Her quest was to provide an inclusive shade range so everyone can find the right color, no matter their skin tone.  A popular product in the line is the Match Stix Contour Stick.  It truly makes contouring an easy thing to do, especially for a beginner like me.  It is very creamy and blends beautifully.  I use it under my cheek bones and along my jaw line to create a shadow effect, and lesson the look of jowls (isn’t that an awful word? 😆).  When purchasing this product, choose a shade one to two shades darker than you think you need, as it melts into the skin and appears lighter.  Fenty Beauty can be purchased at Sephora and now Ulta stores, and the Match Stix is $28.

Sephora “Wishing You” Crème Lip Stains

This is part of the Sephora Holiday collection and is a great a value at $30 for six lip stains.  The shades range from nude pink to deep red.  These have a doe foot applicator and a creamy formula that doesn’t dry down completely – but it isn’t sticky.  There is some light transfer, but they stay on through morning coffee, lunch and dinner.  They compare to Huda Beauty’s Liquid Matte Ultra Comfort Transfer Proof Lipstick, which is a favorite of mine. I was introduced to these lip stains a few years ago during a Sephora Beauty Advisor appointment. These crème stains mix well, too, so you can create your own signature shade. The gift set is great to break apart and give as stocking stuffers or go ahead and treat that special friend to the whole set.

Nest New York – Indigo Eau de Parfum

I had been aware of the Nest brand, but mistakenly though it was only candles and scented oils for the home.  I was intrigued and decided to take advantage of the annual birthday gift set offered by Sephora as a Beauty Insider.  The set included a votive size candle in Grapefruit, a sample perfume oil in Seychelle Orange, and a small rollerball of Indigo Eau de Parfum.  As soon as I opened the box the scents had me.  The grapefruit candle is refreshing, and I will be purchasing more to give as gifts.  The Seychelle Orange oil is also a bright, refreshing scent, but once applied to the body it mellows and lingers.  I can smell it every time I move my hand.  But the piéce de résistance is the Indigo Eau de Parfum.  It has notes of Italian Lemon, orange bergamot, tea wood, and wild figs from France.  It is a warm and earthy fragrance and is slightly androgenous.  Citrus notes in a fragrance will capture my imagination every time.  And don’t forget the beautiful artwork on the labels by the 18th century British artist Mrs. Mary Delaney, which inspired the scents.  You can purchase Nest fragrances at Nestnewyork.com and Sephora.

This time of year has so many beauty items to tempt us, both as gifts and for ourselves. What will you indulge in?

I hope you enjoyed this, and remember to wear skincare, everyday!
